PSL 8: Karachi Kings beat Multan Sultans by 66 runs

In the 14th match of the 88th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by 66 runs.

Chasing the target of 168 runs set by Karachi Kings, the entire Multan Sultans team was bowled out for 101 runs in the 17th over.

On behalf of the Sultans, Shaan Masood scored 29 runs and captain Mohammad Rizwan scored 29 runs. Seven batsmen of Multan Sultans could not get into double figures.

On behalf of Multan Sultans, Tabriz Shamsi, and Shoaib Malik scored three each while Akif Javed and Imad Wasim led the way to the pavilion.

Multan Sultans chased the target confidently but Karachi Kings spinners turned the tide of the game.

Tabrez Shamsi, who made his debut in PSL, bowled well and dismissed 3 players for 18 runs in four overs.

In the match played in Karachi on Sunday, Karachi Kings scored 167 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs thanks to the excellent batting of Tayyab Tahir and Matthew Wade while playing first.

Right-handed batsman Tayyab Tahir, who made his PSL debut, scored 65 runs off 46 balls which included 8 fours and a six.

Along with him, Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade scored 46 runs off 47 balls.

Karachi Kings have included Tayyab Tahir in the playing XI in place of Haider Ali.

South African spinner Tabriz Shamsi was also making his debut in this match along with Tayyab Tahir.

For Multan Sultans, Ehsanullah dismissed two while Anwar Ali dismissed one player.
