Riley Russo's fastest century, Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets

 

In the 27th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans defeated Peshawar Zalmi by four wickets after an exciting battle.

At the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans achieved the target of 243 runs on the first ball of the last over and qualified for the play-off stage.

Riley Russo on behalf of Multan Sultans scored 121 runs off just 51 balls with a brilliant batting performance.

He broke his own old record by scoring the fastest century in the history of PSL in 41 balls. He was named the best player in
the match.

Earlier, he scored a 44-ball century for Multan Sultans against Quetta Gladiators in the fifth edition of PSL.

Rylee Russo was caught by Koehler Cadmore off Azmatullah Omarzai. His innings included 8 sixes and 12 fours.

Kieran Pollard scored 52 runs off 25 balls while Anwar Ali played an inning of 24 runs off 8 balls.

For Peshawar Zalmi, Azmatullah Umarzai took two wickets while Mujeebur Rehman, Arshad Iqbal, Wahab Riaz, and Saeem Ayub took one wicket each.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi scored 242 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while batting first.

Captain Babar Azam played an excellent inning of 73 runs off 39 balls, he was caught out by Mohammad Rizwan off the ball of Abbas Afridi.


Saeem Ayub scored 58, Tom Koehler Cadmore scored 38 and Mohammad Haris scored 35 runs.
Abbas Afridi of Multan Sultans took four wickets, while Anwar Ali and Usama Mir took one wicket each.

PSL 8 points table after 9 matches

In the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League, all the teams played their 9, 9 matches.

Lahore Qalandars are leading the points table with 14 points after winning 7 matches in the event, while Islamabad United is in second place with 12 points after winning 6 matches.

Multan Satans are third in the points table. Multan Sultans have won 5 matches and have 10 points.

Peshawar Zalmi team has won only 4 matches, they have 8 points and they are in the 4th position on the points table.
