In the 11th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings after a thrilling encounter.
The Karachi Kings team was defeated by Multan by 3 runs after managing to achieve 193 runs in the allotted 20 overs while chasing Multan's 197 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
In the match played in Multan, Karachi Kings won the toss against Multan Sultans and decided to bowl first, and Multan scored 196 runs while playing first.
Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan scored a brilliant century. Rizwan remained not out after scoring 110 runs off 64 balls with the help of four sixes and 10 fours. Shaun Masood scored 51 runs, and Riley Russo scored 29 runs.
Multan Sultans scored 196 runs for the loss of two wickets in the allotted overs; Mohammad Umar and Shoaib Malik took one wicket each for Karachi.
Karachi Kings innings
In pursuit of Multan's target of 197 runs, Karachi Kings started the innings brilliantly; a partnership of 72 runs was established for the first wicket, and Matthew Wade was dismissed for 20 runs and James Vince was dismissed for 75 runs.
Haider Ali was also caught out, making 12 runs, and Shoaib Malik, 13. Captain Imad Wasim and Ben Cutting resisted Sultan's bowler, but Ben Cutting also returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs.
Imad Wasim played a responsible inning but could not give the team a victory once again. Kings needed 15 runs in the last over, but the Karachi team managed to score 193 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted overs and thus faced defeat by three runs.
Imad Wasim was not out, scoring 46 runs.
On behalf of Multan, Abbas Afridi dismissed two players; Usama Mir and Khushdil Shah dismissed one player each.
It should be noted that the Multan Sultans are the top team this season; they have played five matches and lost only one. Karachi Kings also played five matches, of which they lost four.
