This is because he forgot the family name of
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a press conference a few days ago.
Note that the part Damodar Das in Prime Minister Modi's name is his father's
name, and thus his full name is Narendra Damodar Das Modi.
Due to this, FIRs have been registered against
him in at least two different places.
What did Pawan Kheda say?
Congress spokesperson and head of media briefing
Pawan Kheda was referring to the demand for the formation of a Joint
Parliamentary Committee (JPC) after the Hindenburg report on Indian billionaire
businessman Gautam Adani.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Modi is
accused of helping Gautam Adani. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly
said that the Prime Minister only cares about Ambani and Adani.
Pawan Kheda mentioned the demand for the
formation of the JPC and said, "Why are you running away from the debate
in Parliament?" Why are you afraid of JPC? Even PV Narasimha Rao (the
Congress leader) and Atal Bihari Vajpayee (the BJP leader) established JPC
during their tenures as Prime Ministers. What is the problem of Narendra
"Gautham Das" and "Damodar Das" with JPC?
Then in the press conference, he was seen asking
a person sitting next to him, "Is it, Gautam Das or Damodar Das?" Then
he said that "Damodara Das is in the name, but Gautama Das' deeds
are."
Later, Pawan Kheda tweeted, "I was really
confused whether it was Damodar Das or Gautam Das."
"The country will not forgive such a terrible statement by Congressmen."
Assam Chief Minister Himanto Biswa Sarma
criticized Pawan Kheda's statement and said that the country will not forgive
such a terrible statement by Congressmen.
On the other hand, India's Home Minister, Amit
Shah, has said that when the Congress has made fun of the Prime Minister, they
have faced defeat in the elections.
Addressing an election rally in India's
north-eastern state of Nagaland, Amit Shah said that "in 2019, when Rahul
Gandhi used bad language against Prime Minister Modi, the Congress also lost
its opposition status."
He said that the language used by Congress
today will be answered by the people in the ballot box.
According to the Indian News Agency, he added
that "Congress will not be visible even through binoculars in the general
elections of 2024."
After that, in response to him, Congress Party
President Mallikarjan Kharge said on Tuesday that "in the general
elections of the year 2024, the government will come under the leadership of
Congress, even if 100 Modis and Shahs come."
According to ANI, BJPIT cell leader Amit Malviya
said, "With such a statement, Congress has further lowered the level of
its politics."
He said that this is not the first time that Congress has made a personal attack on the Prime Minister. The Congress has
been constantly attacking her caste, her home life, and her background.
An FIR was registered in Lucknow.
The Uttar Pradesh police on Monday registered a
case against Khera following a complaint by city-based BJP leader Mukesh
Sharma.
Local BJP leader and MLC Mukesh Sharma alleged
that the Congress leader "knowingly mocked" Prime Minister Narendra
Modi's dead father.
A police official said the case was registered
at Lucknow's Hazratganj police station under Sections 153-A (promoting enmity
between different groups), 500 (defamation), and 504 (intentional insult with
intent to incite a breach of peace). and listed under 505 (2) (statements
inciting or promoting enmity or hatred between different classes).
According to Indian media, a second FIR has also
been registered.
Reaction to social media
A user named Wasim Akram Tyagi has shared an old
clip of one of India's leading anchors, Umesh Devgan, along with the news of
Pawan Kheda's FIR for mistaking the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The
Congress leader, who is called the father of the nation, makes a mistake in
taking the name of Mahatma Gandhi. Wasim Akram Tyagi has described this as a
mockery of the father of the nation.
On the other hand, Surinder Rajput wrote that
"After yesterday's FIR, Pawan Khedaji has become not only the voice of
Congress but also its style."
Earlier, when a senior Congress leader, Mani Shankar Iyer, used a derogatory word for Narendra Modi, Congress shunned him.
