The Election Commission of Pakistan has released the schedule of general elections in Punjab province.
According to the notification issued by the Election Commission on Wednesday, nomination papers can be submitted from March 12 to 14.
The notification states that the list of nominated candidates will be published on March 15 while the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 22.
According to the Election Commission, appeals against the decision of the rating officers and rejection of nomination papers can be submitted till March 27.
According to the notification, the last date for the decision of the Appellate Tribunals on the appeals has been set as March 3.
The Election Commission's notification further states that 'nomination papers can be withdrawn by the candidates till March 5.'
The revised list of names of the candidates will be released on April 4 while the election symbols will be released to the candidates on April 6.
President Dr. Arif Alvi has fixed the date of polling in Punjab on April 30 after consulting the Election Commission.
It should be remembered that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi signed the summary of the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly on January 12.
However, after Governor Balighur Rehman did not sign the summary, the provincial assembly was dissolved on January 14.
